Birthday Card with Miss Kate Cuttables and Mickey!

I am making a quick pop up card with Miss Kate Cuttables. I decided on making a mouse card for someone who loves going to Disney. I love the simple pop up element I used in this card.

Before we get into the instructions on making this card, click HERE to get your daily freebie at Miss Kate Cuttables!!

I used a couple of Miss Kate files: Mouse Uppercase Alphabet and Mouse Balloons.

I did a print and cut with the Mouse Balloons and cut out several balloons. I then went to THIS website to make my pop up element. I used a normal A2card base and inserted the pop up element in the center. I then covered the panels of the inside of the card with some yellow mouse paper I took out of a Disney scrapbooking pack.

I added the balloons I cut out to the pop up element and then went back to my Cameo 3 to cut some letters. I used the Mouse Uppercase Alphabet to type out "Happy Birthday". I then added the sentiment to the inside of my card.

I then use some more goodies from my Disney scrapbooking pack and decorated the front of my card and I was done!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Mardi Gras and Miss Kate Cuttables

Today I have a fun decoration for Mardi Gras!! It is the monthly challenge for Miss Kate Cuttables. I have to admit, this one was a thinker!! Miss Kate Cuttables currently does not have a Mardi Gras selection but taking some items from a few sets I came up with this goodie; I hope you like it!!

Before we get into the project, click HERE to get the daily freebie over at Miss Kate Cuttables.

This hat is cut from the "Windy Snowman" file. Make your hat as large or small as you like. I made the image of the hat fit on a 12 x12 sheet of purple cardstock. I cut the hat band out of green cardstock and then moved on to the embellishments.

I couldn't find a fleur de lis so I used a "Flourish Accent". I cut it out of yellow cardstock and then used some glue to spread over the item and then added some gold glitter. This is messy but Ilove the look and it adds the shinny element that makes this decor scream, MARDI GRAS!!

I did some research into Mardi Gras and found a strong tie with skull and bones. So, I incorporated a fun "Skull and Crossbones" set that I thought was cute.  I cut them out of some bone cardstock and added some shadows with some grey and black to make it complete.

Cutting the feathers was a challenge because Miss Kate has many to choose from. I finally decided on this "Feather Set". I loved the two tones in them and the white tops!! I used various shades of purple, yellow and green cardstock. I also cut the beads from "Pile of Presents-Boy" using the same colors as the feathers.  I took the balloons middle layer to make my "beads". You can chose to use the white highlights if you want some added layers. I chose not to.

I then glued all my embellishments to my main hat piece and back the whole thing with some strong cardboard and added a hanger and I was finished!!

Part 2 of Miss Kate Cuttables Print and Cut Cards

Today is part 2 of the "Print and Cut" series with Miss Kate Cuttables. Check out part one HERE.

Before we get into the project, don't forget to go HERE to get your daily freebie from Miss Kate Cuttables.

This card is using the items we printed out in part 1.

I simply added my pieces to a simple base card and added some decorative paper to complete my Valentine's day card for my husband!!

I chose to add pop dots to my elements instead of cutting the elements out of the card base.

It is just as dramatic as the other card in part 1 but easier to assemble.

I added some glitter pen to all the hearts and the sprinkles to give it some glitz!

That's it!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Miss Kate Cuttables Challenge for January "Anything Goes"

Hi! Today I have a 2 part post. Tune in Thursday, January 17th for the rest of this post and to see the other card made with this technique!!

Before we get into the directions of how to make these cards, pick up your FREEBIE over at Miss Kate Cuttables!!

This technique can be use with ANY Miss Kate Cuttables set. When you need a quick card and don't have a lot of time to put into it,  this is the technique for you!! I picked 2 sets:

You Complete Me and You've Got A Pizza My Heart

Add the set you are wanting to use to your favorite cutting program. I am using Silhouette and my Cameo 3 to cut it out.  I placed all my items within my "print and cut" area and printed it on matte photo paper. I find this gives me the best printing results. This is the "print" part of the process.

After I print my items I go into my program and trace all the images and get it set for the "cut" part of my print and cut. I then proceed to cut out my printed images.

This is what my mat looks like after I weeded out all the paper around the images and I now have all the elements I need to make 2 cards!!! I will show you the second card on Thursday, January 17th, 2019 so check back to see that project using the elements above!!

I decided to make this card a bit more dramatic by adding up some pop up elements. This is easy to do and makes it look like you spent a lot of time on this card. Only you and I will know how easy it was to complete.

I cut some pop up elements in my card. You can do these by hand or use die cuts or even svgs and your die cutting machine. I used some metal dies I had. Be sure to cut your decorative paper at the same time to save some steps. This is how the card looks without the decorative paper.

Add your die cut elements and you are finished. I used some pop dots to pop up my sentiment also!

This is the front of the card. I keep the front simple when I have a lot going on inside the card.

Print and Cut makes this card a breeze to complete. Give it a try!!

Miss Kate Cuttables Halloween Sucker Covers

Thanks for stopping by today!! I have a Miss Kate Cuttables Halloween goodie to share with you!

Before we get into the project, be sure to go to Miss Kate Cuttables for the Daily Freebie!!

I chose to do a simple PRINT AND CUT of my designs since I was doing so many. You can chose to actually cut each layer out and glue them together for an even more special treat, but that is a lot of work if you are doing more then one or two.

I purchased a bunch of fun Halloween Head files from Miss Kate Cuttables for this project. Just about any design will work for this. It just has to have enough image to cover your suckers. I liked the heads. There are MANY Halloween heads to choose from. Pick your favorites!! If you are like me, I loved them all so I had to BUY THEM ALL!!

I just laid them all out on my Cameo 3 digital cutting mat and used the "trace tool" to trace all images and "cut and detach" so I only had my images to work with and not the white around each. Then I selected them all again and used the "shadow" tool to make a shadow around each image. I like a little white around them, it looks cleaner.

I then printed the images with my home printer with photo glossy paper. When they came out of the printer, I adhered the sheet to my cutting mat and cut them images out with my Cameo 3. The rest is easy, just take your suckers and use tape to tape them over the suckers. I arranged mine on a box wrapped in paper so they stand up and the kids can choose what sucker head they want. It makes Halloween that much more special!!

ENJOY!

Summer Fun with Miss Kate Cuttables

Today I am making a fun summer card for MKC. These cute popsicles are adorable!! The great thing about this file is you get 4 popsicles to choose from!! I only used 2 of them for this project. I saved the other 2 for another one.

Before we get into the project, don't forget to head over to Miss Kate Cuttables for the DAILY FREEBIE!

On to the project!!

You can find the designs I used HERE. The file is called "Popsicle Set" but if you don't find one you like in this set you can find more popsicles HERE.

I cut out all my popsicles and glued the layers together and then added a layer of crystal effects over the popsicle parts. I set these aside to dry.

I made some simple backgrounds for these cards since I wanted the main focus on the popsicles. The green card is using a simple dot die cut which I cut out of white and layered over some light green cardstock and mounted on an A2 card base.

For the orange popsicle background I used a dotted embossing folder with white paper and mounted it on an orange A2 card base.

I wanted a simple sentiment that would not take away from my popsicle image. I chose a simple "SWEET" word from "Valentine Word Set". After I cut the word out of black I glued it on the card front. For the green card, I added some glitter pen for some shine.

For the orange one I added some crystal effects over the word "Sweet" to do something different. After I added the dried popsicles to my cards I was finished with these two "sweet" cards! I can use them for a: Thinking of you, Birthday, Summer hello, Graduation card, or a Thank you card. This is a great card to add to your stash for when you need a card in a hurry.

Enjoy!

Miss Kate Cuttables Challenge: Anything Goes!!

Hi Everyone!! Ready for a Challenge?? Over at Miss Kate Cuttables Blog, we are having a Challenge!! The theme for this month's challenge is "Anything Goes"! You can make anything you would like and with any of the Miss Kate Cuttable designs.

Before we begin, head on over to Miss Kate Cuttables for today's Freebie!!

As you can see, I made a doggie treat container!

I recycled a plastic container with the attached lid, cleaned it out and decorated it with Miss Kate Cuttable designs: Playing Puppy and I Love My Dog Title.

To begin, open up your favorite software to print from. I used Silhouette for my Cameo 3 but you can use Photoshop, Word or any of your cutting software. Measure your container and adjust your .jps so they will fit properly.

I printed them on some glossy photo paper but you can print on printer paper, cardstock or photo paper.

Either with scissors or using your Print and Cut from your cutter, cut out your images. I chose to do it by hand.

Add adhesive to the backs of your cut images. I used my Xyron because I have one but you can use either glue or tape runner.

To add a bit of fun to my container, I used some decorative paper that I ran through the larger Xyron I had. I placed this on one side of my container and then added the smaller image to it.

Here is the front of the container with the decorative paper and below is the back of the container with the other design without the paper.

That's it!! Fill it up with treats for your favorite puppy or even with some toys. If you don't have a dog you can always change the images and use the container for anything!! Some ideas would be:
Cookie container, craft supplies, bathroom items like cotton balls, other pet's toys, crayons, beads, yarn, well....you get the idea, be creative and have fun!!

Miss Kate Cuttables Flower Cut Cards

Today is a fun and easy project from Miss Kate Cuttables and me! I used a great technique which can be used on any design. I used it on some flowers.

Before we get started on the project, don't forget to get your DAILY FREEBIE over at Miss Kate Cuttables!

I took the file, "Daisy Flower Flourishes" I opened it up in my Silhouette program. I ungrouped the flowers and took the daisy with the red center and placed it on my mat. I sized the flower to the size I wanted and removed the area where the red center was. I then used my "slice" tool and cut away all the bottoms of the petals so all that was left was arches in the form of a flower. I then selected it all and grouped them. Save this file. Next take a rectangle file for your card front and arrange the new cut file you made where ever you want to cut the daisies. I made some of them large and some small. You can arrange them any way you would like, in a row, in a circle, all over or just one large daisy.

This is a fun way to make cut files and use your files a bit differently then just cutting the file as is.

After I got all my card fronts cut, I lifted up the petals by bending at the base. Make sure you do good, clean cuts. Double cuts are a good idea to make your bending easier.

Now all you have to do is add some scrap papers behind the cuts and mount onto a card base. I decided to cut my card front a bit smaller to add some interest. I added buttons, faux enamel dots and jelly dots to my cards. You can add anything you would like to the centers. Other ideas are: dimensional paint, puff paints, beads, pearls, brads, eyelets, enamel paints, cardstock punches or just color the centers with markers!

I hope you enjoy my technique and try it for yourself!! Until next time, Happy Crafting!!
