Miss Kate Cuttables Halloween Sucker Covers

I chose to do a simple PRINT AND CUT of my designs since I was doing so many. You can chose to actually cut each layer out and glue them together for an even more special treat, but that is a lot of work if you are doing more then one or two.

I purchased a bunch of fun Halloween Head files from Miss Kate Cuttables for this project. Just about any design will work for this. It just has to have enough image to cover your suckers. I liked the heads. There are MANY Halloween heads to choose from. Pick your favorites!! If you are like me, I loved them all so I had to BUY THEM ALL!!

I just laid them all out on my Cameo 3 digital cutting mat and used the "trace tool" to trace all images and "cut and detach" so I only had my images to work with and not the white around each. Then I selected them all again and used the "shadow" tool to make a shadow around each image. I like a little white around them, it looks cleaner.

I then printed the images with my home printer with photo glossy paper. When they came out of the printer, I adhered the sheet to my cutting mat and cut them images out with my Cameo 3. The rest is easy, just take your suckers and use tape to tape them over the suckers. I arranged mine on a box wrapped in paper so they stand up and the kids can choose what sucker head they want. It makes Halloween that much more special!!

Halloween Pencil Boxes with Miss Kate Cuttables

I have a fun 3D project! These will be great items to give to your favorite "Trick or Treater" or for school party gifts. These can be used for any holiday. Pencils are very inexpensive and they come in all different holiday patterns. Check out your favorite dollar store for them. Not to mention it makes writing fun!!
 

 
Before we start, don't forget to get the "DAILY FREEBIE" over at Miss Kate Cuttables.

I used Miss Kate Cuttables Pattern Paper pack called "October 31st". There are a TON of papers to choose from. (Even digital ones so you can make as many as you want and never run out of paper. Just print and cut!) I have made the cut file following the instructions from the internet. (If you would like me to send you the svg cut file, please send me your email address in the comments below.)
 

I just mounted my favorite paper on the mat and used my file to cut the svg. This file makes 6 pencil cases on one 12x12 sheet of paper. You can modify the amount before you cut if you would like less boxes.

Add adhesive to the top of the decorative paper flap on the left and fold up to make a box. Add liquid adhesive to the flaps at the bottom to fold up to make a box. I folded the one long flap first added some glue on that flap as well as the two sides and folded them in and lastly folded the last long flap to seal it all together.

You are done with the box assembly, now on to the fun part......DECORATING!!

I cut some fun Halloween files from Miss Kate Cuttables to decorate the rest of my pencil boxes. I used "Stacked Jack-O-Lanterns" and "Green Halloween Monster".

Use what you have to add some fun: ribbons, bows, die cuts, glitter, flocking, stamping.....the ideas are unlimited!! Remember, you can make these for any holiday just by changing out the paper and decorations. (I plan on making a lot more!!)

 This is what the box looks like plain. You can leave it like this or add decorations.

Faux Halloween Chalkboard with Miss Kate Cuttables Challenge

I am doing a Challenge for Miss Kate Cuttables. The Challenge for this month is "Halloween". I LOVE Halloween decorating!! The spookier the better. But in this case, I decided to make a cute table decoration for my Halloween parties.

Don't forget to go to Miss Kate Cuttables(MKC) to get your daily FREEBIE before starting this project!!

 

This is a faux chalkboard sign. Chalkboards are all the rage right now. This is an easy one to make and looks like you spent HOURS making it.

First, go and get your favorite MKC design. It doesn't have to be Halloween, this will work with ANY MKC design. I just decided to make a cute Halloween sign to place on my haunted food table this year.( I used Ghost and Goblins Chalkboard Design for my project today)

Load your die cutting machine, mine is a Cameo 3 by Silhouette, with a white gel pen instead of the cutting blade. You really don't have to mess with any of the settings to change the blade out but if you want to chose the "pen" option you can do that too.

Load black card stock into your mat and proceeded like you are cutting out your design. Instead of the blade cutting the design out, it will draw it out with your white gel pen. When it is complete, just color in the design with a chalk pencil, chalk sticks or pastels. Make sure you blur some of the dust around to look like a used chalkboard!

That's it. Just place it in a picture frame with or without the glass and it will look like a chalkboard masterpiece!!

Halloween Decor with Miss Kate Cuttables "Witch In Moon"

It is that time again to start thinking about Halloween Decor!! I have a great and VERY EASY project today to jump start your Halloween decorating.

But first, hop on over to Miss Kate Cuttables to get today's FREEBIE!!

Now let's get started!!

First, I got my file from Miss Kate Cuttables.  I chose the "Witch In Moon"  file but just about any file will work with this method. I put my image on the Silhouette Cameo 3 program mat and sized it as large as it would go to fit my 12x12 inch mat.

 I cut out my image and weeded the image and set it aside. Then I proceeded to cut 3 more layers the exact same way. I used regular black 12x12 inch cardstock. Since I wanted my decor to be more sturdy I needed more layers. (If you had some mat board, you could sandwich that between two sheets of paper and that would be nice and sturdy. Just run a black marker around the edges to hide the mat board edge.)

I added glue to my last image and layered them together. If you have more then one mat, I would layer as I went. It is easier to glue while it is still on the mat because you can toss any paper that the glue seeps out on. This is also easier to line up the image.

Before I added my last layer, I added a piece of fishing line to the top as a hanger. I chose to run the line down her head and hat and up to the second ring around the moon for more stability. 

At this point, you could be done, but I decided to add a bit more bling to my piece.

I just put some glue down and then sprinkled on some black glitter. Let them dry and this decor is finished!!  Time to make some more!!

I only placed it in front of the door to photo, hang it anywhere you want a bit of Halloween!

Miss Kate Cuttables Halloween Card Challenge and MORE!

This adorable Halloween card doubles as a Halloween decoration! It lays flat so it can be put in an envelope but you can stand it up and add a electronic tea light to make it a decoration.

This card uses Miss Kate Cuttable's Halloween Witch Frame. I used the standard "easel card" instructions. (You can find them here at Splitcoaststampers.com)

• Cut out the file to fit the size card you are making. (I made a card 4.5 x 6 so my finished image was 5 inches. 
• I cut a base card from purple. (4.5 x 12) Score at 3 and 6 inches.
• Lay the image over the card base and trace inside the image. At the 3 inch fold, cut out the oval with a craft knife. This will be the bottom half of the witch image so you can see the tea light though. 

 

• Cut out 2 black mats at 4.25 x 5.75inches and 2 decorative papers at 4 x 5.5 inches. Layer them together.
• Lay the witch image on one set of papers and temporarily adhere it to front of card. 
• Turn the card over so you can see the back of the card front. Trace the cut out half circle and use craft knife to cut out that section. 
• Add some plastic between the mat and card base so the light will disperse a bit and shine better.
• Adhere the front to card base with plastic in the hole. Only add adhesive to the bottom half of the card base so it can fold. Add the image to the papers also.

•  I used the piece of paper I cut out of the back of the card and adhered it to the folded edge of paper of the card base so it wouldn't be purple showing though when the card was closed on top.
• Attach the inside papers to the inside of the card.
• Cut a black rectangle 1 x 3 inches and some purple an 1/8 of an inch smaller. This will be for your sentiment. I used one that would match my design. I also mounted it below the oval opening so it wouldn't show when the card was closed. 
• Attach with some foam adhesive. 

• You can stop here but I also wanted my card to stand up further. I added some faux enamel dots. This way, I can either have it on an angle or standing straight up with the battery operated tea light behind it. 

 

 Add your message in the blank space between the dots and the stamped sentiment or write on the back of the card.

Miss Kate Cuttables Guest Designer Card Number 2

 This fun and easy shaker card was made with the Miss Kate Cuttables cut file Halloween Witch Shoe Frame. I will take you step by step and show you how to make this basic shaker card.
You will need a die cutting machine such as a Silhouette or Cricut to make this card.

Open up the file in your favorite editing program. I am using the Cameo 3 by Silhouette.

 Size the image to 4inches wide. If you keep the ratio locked, the length will adjust automatically. (aprox. 4.5 inches wide) Cut it out on black paper. 

Next weed or clean up the design and take it off the mat. You just made a die cut! Now you can use the die cut as is and mount it on a card or make a fun shaker like I did.

Cut a card that is 4.33 x 5.5 inches. Score at 4.25 and .125 or 1/8 inch to the left of your regular score. This is to allow room for the shaker and so the card folds correctly. Add the decorative paper to the front of your card and die cut a circle in the center. Use a 3.5 inch circle die. 

Glue the die cut image over the circle on the front of your card.(I did this step later but you should do it now.) Keep the edges of the circle behind the black border of the die cut. (I accidentally glued it on backwards, it really doesn't matter which way you glue it, it is reversible.)

Using some recycled plastic, glue a piece large enough to cover the hole on the INSIDE of the card as pictured below. 

Using some foam tape, begin to add tape around the circle in the inside of the card front over the hole. Keep the foam on the card and not on the hole itself. I wanted my items to shake around freely so I doubled up on my foam. I also went around the inside of my foam with a powder tool to remove any tackiness so my shaker pieces would not stick to the adhesive. 

 Now the fun part! Fill your shaker with all kinds of goodies. I used sequins, plastic balls and beads. You can use tiny punches, pearls, sand or any other tiny items you want to "shake" around in your card front.

Remove the backing from the foam and add a piece of 4.25 x 5.5 piece of cardstock. I used purple. Use a color to match your patterned paper.The shaker card is finished. Now to decorate the front a bit. I used a die cut sentiment and cut it several times from the purple paper and layered them together to give me a thick die cut word. I glued it on the lower right hand side of the card and I was finished.....

So I thought.....

I decided to play a bit more and added the shaker to a 5.5 x 8.5 inch card. I added some black paper for the base, a purple embossed piece for the second layer and some die cuts from Miss Kate Cuttables (Spiderweb Set). I used the card for my shaker element and added a few little pieces from the shaker for some color. For fun I added a spider with google eyes!

This adorable die cut is from Miss Kate Cuttables Witch in Cauldron. This is a larger card size then the normal A2 (4.25 x 5.5). I made this card 8.5 x 5.5 so I can make the design larger. You can cut the witch in cauldron any size you would like to match your card size. That is the great thing about cutting these designs with your own cutter.



Now let's make the card!

Gather your supplies:

Purple cardstock base 8.5 x 11 inch
Black cardstock : 8.25x 5.25 and 4.25 x 5.25 inch
Purple pattern paper: 8.125 x 5.125 inch
Orange pattern paper: 4 x 5 inch
Scrap white cardstock for Sentiment
Black in Memento for Sentiment
Miss Kate's Witch in Cauldron cut from cutting machine finished size: 5.25 inch
(Scrap paper: two shades of green, two shades of orange, 2 shades grey, black, 3 shades of purple)
Rubber stamp with Halloween saying: Toil & Trouble from tailored expressions used now retired
Layered dies to cut saying: Sizzix Labels Fancy #4 the
Crafter's Companion Clear Sparkle Pen
Faux Enamel Dots: Made by Me
Foam Squares

Make your Witch in Cauldron from your Miss Kate Cuttables file. Use scrap papers to cut each layer and assemble with clear glue. Make the die cut fit the card you have decided to make. If making the size I did, assemble her to 5.25 inch total size. Add some sparkle pen to the bubbles and all parts of the insides of the cauldron. I do like sparkle so I added some to the bows on her shoes too!

Next, fold your 8.5 x 11 inch piece of purple cardstock in half for the card base and set aside.  Stamp your sentiment on white cardstock and cut with your favorite shape die. I used Sizzix Labels Fancy #4. Cut out a shadow layer, I used black with the same die set.

Cut your black mats, purple pattern paper and orange pattern paper to the sizes above. Adhere with tape or glue on the purple card base. Add the die cut and the sentiment with foam squares, add faux enamel dots and you are done!
