Congratulations "Nana" Christy!!

Today we have a special Blog Hop for Nana Christy!! Congratulations to the Grandma to be!!

Just a quick baby card today. I used "New Baby" stamp set by Joy Clair Stamps to make my fun baby mobile. I just stamped 4 of the fun images, colored them and set them aside. I took an A2 card base, added some yellow decorative paper for my "wallpaper" trimmed 1/4 inch smaller then my card front, added some strips of brown paper to be my "mobile" and added some string. Adhered my images with some foam adhesive, glued on some string and I was finished. For some added dimension I added a tiny yellow faux enamel dot as the mobile hanger. I also added the stamped sentiment "Congratulations" with a penned in exclamation point.

Joy Clair and Therm-O-Web

I am participating in a Joy Clair Stamps and Therm-O-Web collaboration.

http://joyclair.typepad.com/

I am featuring a new release of Joy Clair Stamps "Christmas Lights". It is a cool background stamp with tiny light bulbs on a string.

I decided to use some of the Deco Foil by Therm-O-Web and foil all my bulbs. I love the shine the foil brings to my projects! I used the Rainbow Foil to achieve all the colored bulbs with only purchasing ONE foil pack.

I took an A2 card and stamped the "Christmas Lights" in black in on the front. I then used the Deco Foil Adhesive to color all the bulbs. I then let it dry for about an hour. The adhesive will be clear and tacky to the touch. Then the fun part begins!!

I took a tiny square of the Rainbow foil and used a section of color to place over the tacky bulb, shinny side UP. Rub gently to get the adhesive to grab hold of the foil and peel back the foil to reveal all the shinny goodness!!

I continued to move my foil around to different bulbs and shifting the foil to a different color on the tiny foil sheet until all my bulbs were covered. I then selected a large Deco Frame and peeled off the release paper to reveal the adhesive and place it on the front of my card. I found a die cut circle I owned that was the same size as the opening I wanted to make and used my Sizzix to cut out the hole.

I then used the previous Christmas release of Joy Clair stamp set, "3D Christmas Poinsettia" to stamp my "Merry Christmas" sentiment inside the card where it would show though the center opening on my card front.

(As a bonus, I took the decorative circle I cut out of the front and added it to the back of my card to jazz it up a bit. I also used a Deco Frame to make it stand out.)

I hope you try the new Deco Foils from Therm-O-Web. They come in some fabulous colors!! A word of caution:  Once you use the foil you may become addicted to it, like I did!!

Miss Kate Cuttables Halloween Sucker Covers

Thanks for stopping by today!! I have a Miss Kate Cuttables Halloween goodie to share with you!

Before we get into the project, be sure to go to Miss Kate Cuttables for the Daily Freebie!!

I chose to do a simple PRINT AND CUT of my designs since I was doing so many. You can chose to actually cut each layer out and glue them together for an even more special treat, but that is a lot of work if you are doing more then one or two.

I purchased a bunch of fun Halloween Head files from Miss Kate Cuttables for this project. Just about any design will work for this. It just has to have enough image to cover your suckers. I liked the heads. There are MANY Halloween heads to choose from. Pick your favorites!! If you are like me, I loved them all so I had to BUY THEM ALL!!

I just laid them all out on my Cameo 3 digital cutting mat and used the "trace tool" to trace all images and "cut and detach" so I only had my images to work with and not the white around each. Then I selected them all again and used the "shadow" tool to make a shadow around each image. I like a little white around them, it looks cleaner.

I then printed the images with my home printer with photo glossy paper. When they came out of the printer, I adhered the sheet to my cutting mat and cut them images out with my Cameo 3. The rest is easy, just take your suckers and use tape to tape them over the suckers. I arranged mine on a box wrapped in paper so they stand up and the kids can choose what sucker head they want. It makes Halloween that much more special!!

ENJOY!

Fall in Love with Joy Clair Stamps

What a fun stamp set! This new release from Joy Clair Stamps has a great set called "Turkey Talk" that is just perfect for the project I was making. I made place cards for Thanksgiving! I love to make my table a bit personalized each year and making place cards is a fun way to add that handmade touch. They are easy to do and I also made them "reusable" by covering the turkey's sign with some packing tape. This way you can write the person's name with a dry marker or water color marker and just wipe it off to use it again next year with another person's name on it. (But if you are like me, it is the same people every year so it doesn't matter. I usually just make a different set each year!)

This is pretty easy and straight forward. Just stamp the turkey image onto some paper. I used Copic friendly paper since I colored them with my Copic markers. You can color them with anything. Let the kids color them for some family involvement!! I then just cut around them and mounted them on a piece of folded card stock. (The final measurements are 2 x 3.5 but you use a 4 x 3.5 piece of paper and fold on the 4 inch side to make it 2 x 3.5 inch) I thought the bottom corner needed a little something so I used one of the many sayings as my sentiment. That's it! It's done.

Halloween Pencil Boxes with Miss Kate Cuttables

I have a fun 3D project! These will be great items to give to your favorite "Trick or Treater" or for school party gifts. These can be used for any holiday. Pencils are very inexpensive and they come in all different holiday patterns. Check out your favorite dollar store for them. Not to mention it makes writing fun!!

Before we start, don't forget to get the "DAILY FREEBIE" over at Miss Kate Cuttables.

I used Miss Kate Cuttables Pattern Paper pack called "October 31st". There are a TON of papers to choose from. (Even digital ones so you can make as many as you want and never run out of paper. Just print and cut!) I have made the cut file following the instructions from the internet. (If you would like me to send you the svg cut file, please send me your email address in the comments below.)

I just mounted my favorite paper on the mat and used my file to cut the svg. This file makes 6 pencil cases on one 12x12 sheet of paper. You can modify the amount before you cut if you would like less boxes.

Add adhesive to the top of the decorative paper flap on the left and fold up to make a box. Add liquid adhesive to the flaps at the bottom to fold up to make a box. I folded the one long flap first added some glue on that flap as well as the two sides and folded them in and lastly folded the last long flap to seal it all together.

You are done with the box assembly, now on to the fun part......DECORATING!!

I cut some fun Halloween files from Miss Kate Cuttables to decorate the rest of my pencil boxes. I used "Stacked Jack-O-Lanterns" and "Green Halloween Monster".

Use what you have to add some fun: ribbons, bows, die cuts, glitter, flocking, stamping.....the ideas are unlimited!! Remember, you can make these for any holiday just by changing out the paper and decorations. (I plan on making a lot more!!)

This is what the box looks like plain. You can leave it like this or add decorations.

This is the back and side of the box with the decorations on it.

Please leave me some pics of your projects when you finish them in the comments below!

Happy Halloween and Happy Crafting!!

"The Reason" New Release from Joy Clair Stamps

Let's make a Christmas card with water color and Joy Clair Stamps!

Nativity1

I stamped the image from "The Reason" stamp set from the new release on watercolor paper and Stazon ink. Then I proceeded to watercolor the image.
  Nativity3

Next, I cut out some navy blue card stock to fit the card and then trimmed off the center section to mimic the raise of the star.  I lined the edges with some gold foil paper and stamped the angel from the set in VersaMark and used clear embossing powder on it to blend in the background a bit.
  Nativity7

After that, I stamped in VersaMark the sentiment from the set in the lower bottom right hand of the blue paper then used black embossing powder on it to stand out a bit more then the angel.
  Nativity5
Nativity5

Lastly, I cut out a black and a gold star using my Cameo 3 (you can hand cut one if you don't have a cutting machine). I glued them together for more stability and mounted it on a foam adhesive square. Mount the card front on an A2 card base and you are done! If you want to fit this card into an envelope either make a larger envelope or cut down your card before you glue on the star and make sure it will fit in your envelope before you glue on the star or Move the star down into the card a bit.

Faux Halloween Chalkboard with Miss Kate Cuttables Challenge

I am doing a Challenge for Miss Kate Cuttables. The Challenge for this month is "Halloween". I LOVE Halloween decorating!! The spookier the better. But in this case, I decided to make a cute table decoration for my Halloween parties.

Don't forget to go to Miss Kate Cuttables(MKC) to get your daily FREEBIE before starting this project!!

This is a faux chalkboard sign. Chalkboards are all the rage right now. This is an easy one to make and looks like you spent HOURS making it.

First, go and get your favorite MKC design. It doesn't have to be Halloween, this will work with ANY MKC design. I just decided to make a cute Halloween sign to place on my haunted food table this year.( I used Ghost and Goblins Chalkboard Design for my project today)

Load your die cutting machine, mine is a Cameo 3 by Silhouette, with a white gel pen instead of the cutting blade. You really don't have to mess with any of the settings to change the blade out but if you want to chose the "pen" option you can do that too.

Load black card stock into your mat and proceeded like you are cutting out your design. Instead of the blade cutting the design out, it will draw it out with your white gel pen. When it is complete, just color in the design with a chalk pencil, chalk sticks or pastels. Make sure you blur some of the dust around to look like a used chalkboard!

That's it. Just place it in a picture frame with or without the glass and it will look like a chalkboard masterpiece!!

Holidays Are Better In Flip Flops!!

In honor of World Card Making Day, I joined up with Joy Clair Stamps to make this fun holiday card from Joy Clair's new release. Don't forget to scroll all the way down this post to continue on the Around the World Blog Hop!!

http://joyclair.typepad.com/

The stamp set is called, "Penguins Tropical Christmas". There are a lot of fun stamps in this set. I decided to use the penguin and the bikini!!

I used the new stamp set from Joy Clair Stamps called, "Penguins Tropical Christmas". I stamped the penguin over and over, starting with the front row and then covering them with a mask as I continued to stamp up towards the top. I used the MISTI to help me keep them all in a row.

When I was finished I stamped a pink bikini on one of the penguins and colored all the beaks. For some added dimension I added Crystal Effects to the bathing suit to make it shinny and stand out a bit more.

Lastly, I stamped the one of the sentiments from the set onto some bright cardstock and used a die that look like a sun and mounted it on some foam adhesive dots. Mounted the card on pink then black card stock and added my card front to an A2 card base.
