Holiday Coffee Lovers Blog Hop with Joy Clair Stamps

I am participating in the Coffee Lovers Holiday Blog Hop with Joy Clair Stamps! I chose a stamp set from the new release called, "Tea Time".  I chose a cute pile of books to make a delightful book mark!

I stamped the tea cup FIRST on watercolor paper and then put a mask over it, THEN stamped the pile of books with StazOn ink. StazOn ink is waterproof so I can safely watercolor over it and it won't run. Then, I stamped my sentiment.

I watered colored it and then mounted some double sided foil paper on the back by Rinea Foil. The front was gold and the back is silver.

Bible Journaling with Joy Clair's "Lightbulb Moment" and "Pearl of Great Price"

Another Bible Journaling idea. This one is a quick post using two new stamp sets from the new fall release, "Pearl of Great Price" and "Lightbulb Moment".  See the complete 2018 Fall Release HERE.

I found the passage in my Bible Journaling Bible of the New Testament. I stamped various images from the two sets with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink and some colored from Ranger. I then colored the images with colored pencils by Leisure Arts.

To highlight my passages I use Bible highlights. I did the passage to match the stamping in yellow, the other important passages I highlighted in pink and the rest I did in blue.

That is it! I am loving the "Lightbulb Moment" stamp set for the "doodling" on my Bible pages. I know these will be great for not only more Bible Journaling but also for my Planner decorating!!

Nativity cards with Miss Kate Cuttables

Happy Thanksgiving!! Today's post is going to be Christmas cards!! I decided on doing some easy cards that are easy to mass produce.

Before we get started, be sure to head over to Miss Kate Cuttables for your DAILY FREEBIE!

I purchased the "O Holy Night Nativity" set from Miss Kate Cuttables.  Even thought this set has a set of words underneath I decided to purchase this set. I want to show you that you can change your images with your scissors and no need to learn any fancy software.  Also if you notice the floor on my Nativity is curvy. That is not the feature I would like for these cards so I will show you what I did to fix it.

If I just left the design as is, you can see above the ground is curvy and the sky would show under my image. So I cut a small strip of black paper and adhered it to the bottom of my finished card. You really can't see it when you see the card in person. The black paper on black paper really is the perfect fix if you don't know how to fix the design in your cutting program.

Okay, on to the card background. I took some Lipstick Distress ink

and added it to the bottom of my card front, then in order went up to the sky with Concord Grape,

Chipped Sapphire

 and finished of with Black Soot.

I then watered down some white paint and flicked it on with a paint brush. 

The white paint resembles all the stars in the sky. I love this effect!!

This background looks great with all sorts of mediums, die cutting, stamping, painting and drawing to name a few.

As I stated before, I added a small strip of black paper to my card front to the bottom as my ground. I then decided to play with my die cuts a bit to make all my cards a bit different. Some I left as is,

on some I cut all the stars and people out so I just had the main event and the animals to show they were in a stable.

On this card I switched the people with the animals to have it going the other way.

My last set I just cut the stars out and left the other elements, as is.

After I got all the images glued down, I went back to Miss Kate Cuttables for some wording. I purchased "Christmas Phrases 2 Set" I love the selection of the words to make each of my cards special. There are more HERE.

Joy Clair's "Living Water" and "Thankful and Blessed"

Today's post is a Joy Clair new release project. Be sure to check out all the new stamps in this release HERE.

I used two new sets from the fall release, "Living Water" and "Thankful and Blessed".  These two sets have a lot of potential. They are great for fall, manly cards, reflection cards or scrapbooking and Bible journaling.  I decided to make a card that can be used for a male or for any fall event.



I stamped my images from "Living Water" onto some watercolor paper and then painted them with water and my Tombow markers.  I added water to the edges of my paper and tore them to add some texture.



After the paint dried, I cut around the deer image and tore the bottom to add texture to that embellishment.



I took some brown or natural colored paper and trimmed it down to 4 x 5.25 inch and ran it though my Sizzix Big Kick with a leaf embossing folder to add more texture and contribute to my fall theme. I added it to an A2 card-base with a black card front. I used glue to adhere the watercolor background to the leaf base, leaf base to the black cardstock and black cardstock to the card base. I used pop up adhesive dots to adhere the deer over my painted background to bring him to the foreground.  To finish off my card, I cut some pumpkin colored paper into a banner and stamped the word, "Grateful". I used the word stamp from the "Thankful and Blessed" stamp set. I added a button with some bakers twine to fill up the space and add some more interest.

Miss Kate Cuttables November Challenge

This month's challenge at Miss Kate Cuttable's is Fall Colors: Orange/Brown/Yellow/Gold/
Red/Green (any combination). I used a mixture of orange, yellow, brown, and green. I have lots of birthday's in October and November and this card fits the bill!!

Back to the project!!

You can find the cupcake I used HERE and many other cupcakes HERE. 

I cut out the cupcake from MKC and glued it all together. I added some glitter pen to the frosting to make it shimmer. It doesn't come out very well in the pictures but you can see it a bit below.

After I cut out and assembled the cupcake, I ran a piece of natural cardstock though my Sizzix in a fall embossing folder and adhered it to my card base. I adhered the cupcake with some foam adhesive dots to give it some dimension.

I then used some green paper to cut a banner from MKC and assembled it. You can find the banner HERE.  I stamped "Give Thanks" from a stamp set I own and popped it up on some foam adhesive dots as well.

Snowy Greetings from Joy Clair Stamps

"It's the Season" over at Joy Clair Stamps!! Join us for a fun Hop with all the Designers using our holiday stamps for lots of great ideas for the Holidays!

I love the "Snowy Greetings" stamp set from Joy Clair Stamps. It has a lot of fun sayings and cute images to boot!

To make this card I started out with some blue card stock and splattered it with some watered down acrylic paint. I loaded an old tooth brush and ran my thumb down the bristles to make a tiny spray of "snow".

 Next, I stamped some of the snowflakes from the set with some Versamark and used some white embossing powder to set them off. I heated it with my heat gun and moved on to my next step.

I stamped the snowmen on copic friendly paper with some Memento black ink and colored them in with my copics. I used a tiny bit of sparkly pen when I was finished because I love the shimmer it adds to snow.

I added my snowmen with some adhesive foam dots and stamped, "Let It Snow" with the same black ink and added some ... with a black pen. As usual, I didn't stop there with my "black pen" so I added some outlines around my blue card stock to add some more detail.

I mounted my blue paper onto an A2 card base with foam adhesive and I was finished! Check out the whole release HERE!!
