Blog Hopping with Joy Clair

Today I am "hopping along" with Joy Clair and the new Release. You can view all the new stamp sets HERE.

I chose the new "Sprinkled With Love" set to create 2 cards. One is more manly and the other is more girly, but they can be used for any occasion. (Thinking of you, Birthday, Thank you)

This green one is more manly because I used greens and yellows for the theme. I also used some awesome foil from Rinea. It is very cool double sided foil. I chose the green/gold. I stamped on it with Ghost ink and distressed it using some black ink and the crinkle method. (You can find more inspiration about Rinea foil HERE)

This one uses the same set, "Sprinkled With Love" but also used the adorable smiley face stamp from the new released set, "Life is Sweet". I stamped the smaller donuts onto some regular white cardstock for the base and with some scrap white paper stamped the larger donut from the set and colored it with Leisure Arts Premium Colored Pencils after I stamped the face from "Life is Sweet". I cut it out and added some glossy accents for some shine. I used some black paper for my sentiment and embossed with white embossing powder. I added just a touch of some Rinea foil paper to bring it all together.

You can see the dimension that the glossy accents adds to it as well as shine! Lastly, I added a small banner to the top corner with the same glossy black paper and some more Rinea foil paper.

After I made the background I adhered it to a black card base and made my embellishments. I stamped the images from "Sprinkled with Love" onto Copic friendly paper and colored them with Copics. Any colors would look great on this card but I stuck with more manly colors like yellows, greens and oranges. To keep the words from sticking out too much, I colored around the sentiment with some G000 of my Copics.  I also added the glossy accents to this donut and I was finished.

Coffee Loving Cardmakers and Me

Today I am doing a blog hop with Joy Clair and Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog. The challenge was make a card using a coffee theme and also make it a spring/summer theme.

http://coffeelovingcardmakers.com/6523
This is my card for this hop. I hope you like it!

I used some decorative paper for the cups and the tablecloth background from a old paper pad from K and Company called, "Sweet Nectar". The doilies were cut from scrap white card stock I had on hand and a doily die. I used three stamp sets from Joy Clair called, "Christmas Cocoa",  "Hello Sentiments", and "New Baby". I used the cup from "Christmas Cocoa" and the sentiment was from "Hello Sentiments" and the heart on the cup was from "New Baby".
I added a little glitz with a sparkle pen on the heart and I was done!

If you would like to see Joy Clair's other coffee/tea/cocoa stamp sets, check out this link!

I hope you like my take on the challenge and you have time to look around my blog for more fun cards and inspiration. Don't forget to sign up for my newsletters so you don't miss any posts in the future.

Joy Clair New Release Blog Hop

http://joyclair.typepad.com/blog/2018/05/new-release-blog-hop.html

Welcome to the Joy Clair New Release Blog Hop!! (More info on the blog hop and prizes at the bottom of the post.)

Check out all the great stamps HERE!!

I have the pleasure to be assigned the "Crackle Background" stamp to play with. I made a fun, "HELLO" card that you can adapt for any occasion.

To make it for Mother's day use the letters to spell out "MOM". Change the colors to blue and red and make one for 4th of July, stamp with orange and black and spell out "BOO" and make it for Halloween. I know I am going to make some of the ones I have mentioned!

On to the directions!!
  • Pick your card base size. I used an A2. Take an 8.5 x 11 sheet of card stock and cut in half. Fold one of the sides for your card base and set aside.
  • Take the other sheet and CUT in half and use this to make your card front.
  • Take the Crackle Background from Joy Clair and stamp it over your card front with your first color. I used yellow.
  • Next, rotate your card (or your stamp) and reink the same stamp with your next color and stamp. I used pink ink.
  • Then use your die cut alphabet or your favorite font with your die cut machine and cut out your word. I used Altenew Bold Alphabet Die set and cut out "hello".
  • Behind your word, adhere some colored paper. I used pink that matched my ink. You can use one of the colors you used on your card or pick a third color.
  • Add foam dots under the letters and return them back into the spaces, add some faux enamel dots and you could be done. See below.

    • I also added some sparkle marker to the letters to make them stand out a bit from the background on the image above. I liked this version. In person you can see the word better. To photo better I went a step further.

    • If you like the inked letters, ink them before you replace them into the holes after you add the adhesive dots.
    • Just add some embellishments, I added faux enamel dots but you can add some mini flowers, gems, die cuts or ribbon.
    • Add the card front you just finished making and adhere it to the card base you made and set aside.
    • Lastly, I rounded the corners with a corner rounder. This is also optional but I liked the look.

I hope you like my new technique of making fun and easy cards for any occasion! Please post some pics if you make a card using this tutorial.
