Halloween Birthday Card

Here is a quick card I made for a friend whose birthday is on Halloween.  I received the image from
Miss Kate Cuttables.

I first made an A2 card stock base out of black paper.  I pulled out my Midnight Magic 6x6 pattern pack (purchased at Michael's) and cut a 4.25 x 5.5 out of some black and purple paper. I inked the edges with black soot distressing ink to give it an aged appearance. Out of the same paper pack I selected a green paper and cut a 2.5 x 4.25 rectangle and also inked the edges with black soot distressing ink to give a uniformed appearance to both papers.

Taking that same paper I wrapped some twine around it, three times and adhered it to the back with some scotch tape.  I added a bow to the front or you could add a knot. If you don't have twine, you can do the same thing with ribbon. Next I added a punched tag that I layered on back card stock for a border, after I inked it with green ink.  I do not recall the ink I used but any green stamping ink will do. I used a Halloween greeting I had in my stamp stash, any greeting will do.  If you don’t have any stamps, you can use your computer to print out some words or write a sentiment with a marker.  I punched a hole for some more twine and added dimensional tape to the back to pop up that element.

After I had the base of the card complete I moved on to my main image, the vampire cupcake.  I received this cutting file from Miss Kate Cuttables. I cut out all the pieces on Recollections card stock I purchased from Michael's and began to assemble him.  I chalked some of the edges of the face to give some shading. I also put him on dimensional tape. I added the cupcake to the card front and could have stopped there but I wanted to use some more embellishments I had in my stash.  I dug out a bat border I had from some scrap booking decorations and cut off two bats. Added them to the top with more dimensional tape to finish off the card.

Die Cut Boy Card

I was playing around with some die cut files and made this cute Valentine's Day card for my son. I used a die cut for the main image. The background is pattern paper from Michael's as well as the card stock. I added a grosgrain ribbon and a tiny tag with some bling and I was done.

Spooky Spectrum Noir Card

This card is highlighting the Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

This is a simple card when you take it step by step.

Stamp a Halloween image on paper. Color image with Spectrum Noir markers. For the background, use makers to make tiny dots, then use blender pen over dots to make dots spread. Make a A2 standard card base out of DCWV the jewel colors pack. I used purple. The paper pack I used was from Michael's Midnight Magic 6x6 pack.

I used a sheet for the background paper and inside the Magic Scrap slide. Wrap twine around the slide and then attach a bow. Cut a strip of DCWV paper and attach over background paper.  Punch out tiny bats with Studio G punch (Michael's) and attach to inside of slide.

I also use Wink of Stella pen to add a bit of sparkle to mini bats. I used the Sizzix bat die to cut out a medium size bat, added glue then black glitter (Michael's dollar bin) to add some sparkle. I made a banner out of some scrap paper leftover from making card base. I stamped the word "spooky" from a stamp set purchased at Michael's. I do not have the package so I do not know the exact name of the set. Use any word stamp you have or write your own words with a sharpie marker.  I added a little more embellishment to the banner to finish off the card. The flowers were from Recollections Floral Embellishments. They have been discontinued but use any flowers you may have. Bling was added to the centers and the card front was complete.

Dustin Pike Reindeer Lights Card

I love making Christmas cards! I try each year to come up with new designs that I can mass produce. I want the card to be cute but I don't want to spend a lot of time on them since I have so many to make. This is an easy layout; it doesn't have a lot of elements but what is on the card makes it fun. The die cut bulbs were cut with various colors of paper but I added some sparkle with glitter glue. The main image came from Dustin Pike; it was colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.

I printed out a page of images on Spectrum Noir white cardstock and colored them all at the same time. Next I cut out all my patterned paper at the same time, as well as my border papers, then assembled them. The bow was added as a final touch. This layout is great for any Christmas stamp you may have; it does not have to be the same one I used.

Scrapbook Canvas

I had so much fun making my business card canvas that I decided to make a scrapbook canvas also. I had a picture in it, but didn't want my family photo all over the net. I am sure you weren't interested in that photo anyway, just the canvas! I purchased all the supplies at Michael's. There is crumpled card stock, some inking, tearing, edge punching and of course card stock and BLING!! I do not have step by step instructions because I did this canvas a while ago but I can answer any questions you may have if you would like to create one. Drop me a line.

New Goodies

Hi All!

I just purchased a great magazine at Crafter's Companion; as a bonus they included a ton of goodies to make the cards inside. I used the images in the magazine to create a layered card (below). Dimensional tape was used under cut pieces to create the 3D main image. I used printed paper by making memories. The main image was from the Crafter's Companion magazine (as stated above). The punches used are from Michaels. They are Martha Stewart's Punch Around the Page snowflake collection. The ribbon was from Morex Corp. I am sorry I don't know where that was purchased. I made the card on a 6x6 base. I have never made a square card before but I may do more. It gave me a lot of space to place my design and left me more room for embellishments. If you have any questions, just let me know!
